Soft Tissue Treatment

(MASSAGE OR INSTRUMENT ASSISTED)

Soft tissues include ligaments, tendons, muscles and fascia.

Dr. Abbate believes proper soft tissue treatment is essential to maintaining the benefits of chiropractic adjustments, long-term longevity and peak physical performance. He utilizes a variety of soft tissue techniques to accomplish this and can range from light stretching to manual pressure. These techniques include Post-Isometric Relaxation (PIR), muscle release techniques, and instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization.

Soft tissue treatment involves direct physical action on the muscle and other soft tissues of your body. Soft tissue techniques such as massage targets your muscles, tendons, ligaments, or other connective tissues such as fascia. Massage is the best known example of a soft tissue technique.

A soft tissue massage includes a whole range of massage depths, pressures, and duration. We understand what techniques are right for your body at any given time. Your soft tissue massage aims to alleviate aches, pains and injuries that are attributed to your body’s soft tissues.

Client Reviews

Just had my first chiropractor appointment with Dr. Frank Abbate (the son) very knowledgeable especially with regard to injury rehabilitation. Quickly diagnosed and resolved discomfort and provided exercises for at home care to build strength and stability.

Frank is awesome! I would highly recommend to anyone. As an athlete, he got me back into my sport within two weeks with just a couple visits and some at home stretching. As a first timer, he was very good at explaining what was going on and what we were doing. Very smart, cleanly, and kind, thank you Frank!

Frank is outstanding! Extremely patient, great listener, remarkably intuitive, understanding, kind and most of all effective. Every exercise he gave me had value, every motion was a step forward and every visit was time well spent. Very highly recommended!!!

I think it’s easy to think of chiropractic as a profession who deals with back issues.

Not so. I had been dealing with a chronic cough for 4-5 months, and had been to the medical doctor twice, and the cough remained a mystery.

When I visited Dr. Abbate, he asked me LOTS of questions and LISTENED. He asked me about my physical activity, specifically what changed in my exercise routine at the time of the onset of my cough. In short, he found a link between my neglect of stretching and breathing properly to my chronic cough. Dr. Abbate’s treatment immediately reduced, eventually eliminated my coughing.

He’s amazing!

I saw Dr. Frank W. Abbate to treat a recurring neck pain (of 8 years) with a current flare up of symptoms. After just 3 adjustments, and education on stretches to do at home, my neck pain has decreased significantly and I have noticable improvement in my range of motion.

Dr. Abbate’s primary concern is the safety and well-being of his patients/clients and it is shown in how he conducts each visit. I have had to have telephone and email communication with Dr. Abbate, and his follow-through was always prompt and professional. He was open to communicating with my other providers to ensure continuity of care during an emergent situation I encountered in his office. Again, that communication was prompt, with the appropriate follow-up.

Sara(h), who works in his office, is very kind, professional, and works hard to get patients in to see Dr. Abbate as soon as possible. She and Dr. Abbate make a great team!

To top this all off- Dr. Abbate told me that my ‘crack’ was YouTube worthy! It was loud, and gave nearly instant relief!

During these crazy times of COVID, Dr. Abbate’s office made it hassle free. I showed up, let them know I was there. They came out to get me. I went in for lower back pain that had been plaguing me for weeks. After an exam it was determined I just needed some concentrated stretches. Dr. Abbate showed me two stretches and a simple workout routine. After a few days I was back to normal.

Thank you!

Frank is knowledgeable, professional, clean & makes his patients feel comfortable. He has extensive knowledge of different stretches and movements that can be done at home to relieve pain and has not only helped me with neck/back issues, but I also my father, whom I referred over to Frank for Siatic nerve pain issues, and it’s completely improved his ailments as well.

Highly recommend Abbate Chiropractic!
